Falsifying documents is considered a criminal offense that is punishable by a fine or even jail time. It is also considered a medical malpractice case. The LVN’s conduct created a false immunization record and exposed residents and staff to the possible risk of harm from adverse complications of tuberculosis.

On or about October 11, 2018, and October 13, 2018, while employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, the LVN falsely documented in the immunization record of the patient and administered of tuberculosis (TB) skin test; two (2) days later, the LVN also falsely documented the result of the aforementioned test as negative. The LVN’s conduct created a false immunization record and exposed residents and staff to the possible risk of harm from adverse complications of tuberculosis.

On or about November 10, 201 8, and November 12, 2018, while employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, the LVN falsely documented in the immunization record of another patient, a completed tuberculosis (TB) screening questionnaire and falsely documented administration of a TB skin test; two (2) days later, the LVN falsely documented the result of the aforementioned test as negative. The LVN’s conduct created a false immunization record and exposed residents and staff to the possible risk of harm from adverse complications of tuberculosis.

On or about December 4, 2018, and December 6, 2018, the LVN falsely documented in the immunization record of a patient, a completed tuberculosis (TB) screening questionnaire and falsely documented administration of a TB skin test; two (2) days later, the LVN falsely documented the result of the aforementioned test as negative. The LVN’s conduct created a false immunization record and exposed residents and staff to the possible risk of harm from adverse complications of tuberculosis.

In response to the incidents, the LVN states she is responsible and has never done anything like this before. The LVN also states she is very sorry. But as a result of her misconduct, the Texas Board of Nursing subjected the LVN to disciplinary action. The LVN may face further sanctions regarding the conduct of falsifying medical records such as medical results.

The outcome is very in favor of the LVN as she had failed to contact a nurse attorney for help regarding the case that she is in that led to her nursing license getting disciplined by the Board.
