RN Falsified Caregiver’s Signature

Every RN or LVN subjected to a disciplinary proceeding or administrative case before the Board is given an opportunity to be heard and defend himself from all accusations. Every nurse with a pending case before the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) is to encourage hiring a nurse attorney.

At the time of the incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a hospital facility in Conroe, Texas, and had been in that position for four (4) years and six (6) months.

On or about March 6, 2020, through March 8, 2020, while employed as a Registered Nurse with Children’s Home Healthcare, Richardson, Texas, and assigned to provide nursing care to a patient, the RN completed and submitted two (2) fraudulent nursing visit notes for visits she did not actually make. Additionally, the RN submitted fraudulent timesheets for hours she did not work. Further, the RN falsified the caregiver’s signature on her visit notes. The RN’s conduct created inaccurate medical records and was likely to injure the patient in that subsequent caregivers would not have accurate information to base their future care decisions.

In response, the RN admits she submitted nursing notes and timesheets for hours not actually worked between March 6, 2020, through March 8, 2020. The RN also admits to falsifying the caregiver’s signature on her nursing notes. The RN explained her husband was very ill and she had to take care of him. The RN states she is the sole provider and required the money to take care of bills.

Because of this, the RN was summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing to give her a fair chance to defend her case. She was given the chance to defend herself at the Board.

However, the Texas Board of disciplined and suspended her RN license. She lost the case simply because the RN failed to find an effective and efficient nurse attorney. Avoid committing the same mistake she did. Find the right nurse attorney in Texas to help you with your needs. Contact Nurse Attorney Yong J.
