Anyone can file a complaint against an RN with the state board for any reason. When this happens, all complaints need to be taken seriously no matter how trivial or unfounded they may appear. San Antonio BON lawyers are the ones who can help you defend your license when the Texas Board of Nursing summoned you.

At the time of the incident, the RN was employed as a Registered Nurse and had been in that position for approximately less than one month.

On or about February 4, 2019, the RN failed to complete a skilled nursing patient in which wound care was to be performed, and failed to notify the appropriate supervisor that the visit was not completed. Her conduct was likely to injure the patient in that failing to complete skilled nursing visits as ordered by a physician could have resulted in the patients not receiving the care they needed.

Because of this, the RN was summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing to hear her side of the story. In response to the incident, the RN states that she submitted all corresponding notes electronically on her patients, and that she resigned on February 4, 2019, therefore she should not have been assigned to a patient. She states that she would not and did not deliberately fail to perform a skilled nursing visit or submit notes for any patient.

However, she was not able to provide a good defense for herself. Therefore, the Board placed her RN license to a disciplinary action instead.

Once a charge from the Texas Board of Nursing is filed, that case becomes public record and available for the world to see. When this happens, this makes it very difficult to get a job that takes insurance. Experienced San Antonio BON lawyers  know how to avoid these pitfalls.
