Seek the help of a Lubbock nurse attorney when facing different complaints and allegations. However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.

At the time of the initial incident, an RN was employed as a Registered Nurse (RN) at a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, and had been in that position for two (2) years and seven (7) months.

It was on or about November 19, 2019, the RN inappropriately accessed the medical health record of a Patient without authorization, and without a medical necessity. The RN’s conduct violated patient confidentiality and was in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

In response, the RN states she had never heard of the patient until HR contacted her regarding the access on November 19, the RN states she told HR she didn’t know the patient and never accessed the record. The RN explains that their department leaves their computers signed in due to the fast pace of the unit and oftentimes there are multiple staff members using the same computer. The RN states looking back, she realizes that not logging off her computer when she was finished was not a responsible decision and no matter what everyone else does it’s her obligation to protect herself and patient information as best as she can.

Because of this, the Board of Nursing placed her license to a disciplinary action instead. However, the RN failed to appear during the hearing.

If you ever undergo cases such as this, it’s best to seek the assistance of a good Lubbock nurse attorney as it could make the case better in your favor. Be sure to find a Lubbock nurse attorney who’s experienced and knowledgeable in several nurse cases to ensure the best assistance possible.
