It’s best to seek the help of a nurse attorney when facing different complaints and allegations. However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.

On or about November 2, 2016, while employed as a Registered Nurse in a hospital in Pearland, the RN failed to administer Adenosine correctly in that she failed to seek assistance from charge nurse or supervisor prior to administration. Her conduct exposed the patient to risk for harm because she lacked cardiac nursing experience and had never administered this medication.

Because of this, a complaint was filed against the RN. In response to the incident, the RN states that November 2, 2016, was her first experience caring for a patient with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and administering Adenosine. Her charge nurse was unavailable; so she administered the medication intravenously over one (1) to two (2) seconds as instructed on the medication administration record (MAR). While she was administering the Adenosine, the patient was monitored by a telemetry device, which showed that the patient was converted to normal sinus rhythm after administration.

The Texas Board of Nursing sent a letter to the RN regarding the issue so then she can have the chance to defend herself. However, she was not able to provide a good defense for herself. Therefore, the Board placed her RN license to a disciplinary action instead.
