We entrust our lives to all nurses and doctors as we want to get better and be cured of our illnesses. But what if nurses are the ones who can bring harm to patients? Any missed order or failure to follow physician’s order, or having to do inappropriate actions that can bring great harm to any patient. This can result in poor recovery results for any patient. If an RN is involved in such conduct, remember that a nurse attorney can help with such a case.
At the time of the initial incident, the LVN was employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at a hospital in Arlington, Texas, and had been in that position for fourteen (14) years and ten (10) months.
On or about July 21, 2019, an LVN was providing care for the left hip surgical incision of a patient, an LVN failed to notify his supervisors and/or the physician of the lack of physician orders after the surgeon placed a wound vacuum drain. The LVN’s conduct was likely to injure the patient from lack of medical treatment for wound vacuum drain.
On or about July 21, 2019, the LVN inappropriately removed the wound vacuum drain, and applied a wet-to-dry packing dressing, without physician orders, and also failed to follow standard precautions, by not washing his hands during the dressing change. The LVN’s conduct was likely to injure the patient from lack of medical treatment for wound vacuum drain.

On or about July 21, 2019, the LVN failed to appropriately assess and document an assessment of the patient’s wound, including taking measurements of the wound. The LVN’s conduct was likely to injure the patient from lack of appropriate wound care and also resulted in an inaccurate medical record upon which other caregivers would rely to provide patient care.
In response to the above incidents, the LVN had committed actions that could harm the patients. The LVN inadequately provides the best care needed by his patients. Formal charges were filed on January 17, 2020.
As a result, the Board decided to take disciplinary action against the LVN. These could have led to suspension or revocation of the LVN’s nursing license. To prevent the worst thing to happen, a nurse attorney is the best and wise choice to have when having to face any accusation cases.
