The second incident happened when the RN misappropriated the drug Demerol belonging to the facility. The RN admitted to the misappropriation and the facility turned the case over to the Austin Police. On March 25, 2018, the RN was arrested for the offense of Fraud to Obtain a Controlled Substance which is a second degree felony.
The Texas Board of Nursing gave the RN the chance to defend herself. However, she was not able to provide a good defense for herself, especially when the drug screening results were brought up to her. Therefore, the Board placed her RN license to a disciplinary action instead.
