An experienced Pasadena nurse attorney has surely helped a lot of RNs and LVNs when it comes to cases that may lead to disciplinary action. Unfortunately, not all nurses were able to hire a nurse attorney as they underwent such cases. This incident that an LVN committed in July 2019, was one of those examples.

On or about July 29, 2019, an LVN from Pasadena was required to successfully complete the Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses (TPAPN) through an Order of the Board. However, she became noncompliant with the TPAPN Agreed order issued to her by the Texas Board of Nursing on July 19, 2019.

The Texas Board of Nursing has full jurisdiction over all cases regarding errors committed by an RN or LVN.

During the hearing, the LVN states she would like to emphasize that relapse is not the reason she failed to enroll and that he continued to remain completely alcohol-free. During the time period that she was supposed to be enrolled in TPAPN, she experienced a family crisis requiring her to file a protective order against her husband for child endangerment and at the same time file for divorce seeking sole custody of their children.

Dealing with the situation has been an all-consuming process. All of her other responsibilities fell behind because there could be no way to truly move forward until that situation was resolved. She is currently in charge of the Intermediate Care Ward (ICW) at her unit. She would like to enroll in TPAPN and continue serving as a nurse. The LVN further states she understands the severity of this issue, and she is thankful for the patience that has already been extended to her until now.

The following incident and defense against the case caused the Texas Board of Nursing to place the LVN and her license into disciplinary proceedings. She would have sought assistance from a good nurse attorney to provide clarifications towards the case.
