At the time of the incident, the RN was employed as a Registered Nurse in Edinburg and had been in that position for twenty-one years and nine months.

On or about September 2, 2018, while employed as a Registered Nurse in Edinburg, the RN allegedly failed to properly assess and intervene when a patient was admitted to OB Triage with decreased fetal movement. The patient went home without signing out against medical advice (AMA) and without the RN notifying the physician of the patient’s presence; additionally, she failed to document any evidence of the triage visit in the patient medical record. The RN was summoned before the Board to defend against the case.

She states her first priority was to ascertain a fetal heartbeat, but once she heading out the door. She states no vital signs were documented due to the patient’s quick departure. She further states the patient was adamant about leaving.
