Negligence at work is a serious case, which is why a nurse attorney is needed if you get accused of this kind of scenario. However, there are some nurses who thought they were guilty of the charges failed to hire a nurse attorney just because they thought it’s the doom for their license already. But that is not entirely the case as there is still hope.

Unfortunately, an RN from Fort Worth failed to do this. This results in disciplinary action from the Texas Board of Nursing. Always keep in mind that the Texas Board of Nursing handles all of the cases that may affect the license from receiving the suspension, disciplinary action, or revocation. However, with a right nurse attorney for the case, rest assured that the case can go according to the nurse’s favor, especially if the RN has a good defense against the case.

On or about April 19, 2016, the RN falsely transcribed physician orders for a patient from another facility and used them as admission orders, without notifying the admitting physician and without authorization. Her conduct resulted in an inaccurate medical record and was likely to injure the patient in that failure to administer proper treatment as ordered by the correct physician could have resulted in the non-efficacious treatment of the patient.

Because of this, the RN was summoned by the Texas Board of Nursing to defend her side.  During the hearing, the RN states she does not recall the specifics regarding this case. She states the physician notification and subsequent orders are paramount on admission, and she does not understand how she could have done this. She states it is her belief that she did contact the physician and obtained admission orders and must contest this complaint.

However, her defense and lack of proper nurse attorney to help her resulted in disciplinary action by the Texas Board of Nursing.

If you’re facing cases such as this, and you think that additional disciplinary action should not be applied anymore, then be sure to hire a nurse attorney who can fully assist you.
