Nurses are always at risk for accusations of any charge. If someone filed a complaint against you, your license could be put in danger if not defended by an Elgin nurse license attorney. An LVN from Elgin, Texas is just one of the many examples of nurses who were charged with illegal use of drugs and failed to hire an effective nurse attorney. L150118N6384

On or about November 13, 2013, an LVN from Elgin allegedly engaged in the intemperate use of Methamphetamine in that she submitted a specimen for a random drug screen that resulted positive for Methamphetamine.

Additionally, the LVN admitted to using Methamphetamine over the weekend before submitting to the drug screen. The use of Methamphetamine by a Licensed Vocational Nurse, while subject to call or duty, could impair the nurse’s ability to recognize subtle signs, symptoms or changes in the patient’s condition, and could impair the nurse’s ability to make rational, accurate, and appropriate assessments, judgments, and decisions regarding patient care, thereby placing the patient in potential danger.https://www.bon.texas.gov/

In response to the incident, the LVN states at the time in question, she was in an abusive relationship. On or about November 12, 2013,the LVN and her boyfriend went to a party of his friends. At the party, people were abusing drugs. The LVN asked to leave, but the boyfriend demanded they stay and coerced her into using methamphetamine by threat of violence.

The next day at work, the LVN underwent a random drug screen and tested positive. Her position was an administrative one and she did not possess any clinical, direct patient care responsibilities. The LVN deeply regrets the circumstances and has since freed herself of the relationship. She further states there was no evidence of actual patient harm.

Because of this, the LVN was disciplined by the Texas Board of Nursing.  Furthermore, the LVN failed to hire an Elgin nurse license attorney to help her with her case.
