The assistance of a nurse attorney is valuable if you’re facing a case before the Texas Board of Nursing (BON). Your defense can be strengthened further if you’re going to face the Board, even if your case has multiple instances of failure to follow a procedure. There are times when mistakes at work could be inevitable, which is why a nurse attorney can assure full assistance over such errors. Disciplinary actions could have been thought about by the Texas Board of Nursing if this particular RN from Amarillo, Texas hired a nurse attorney over her case.

At the time of the initial incident, the RN was employed as a Registered Nurse at a medical facility, in Pharr, Texas, and had been in that position for approximately seven (7) years and six (6) months.

On or about September 12, 2017, while employed as a Staff Nurse at a hospital in Amarillo, Texas, the RN falsely documented the administration of metoclopramide, metoprolol, Protonix, polyethylene glycol, clopidogrel, amlodipine, spironolactone, and vitamin D to the patient as ordered by the physician. A bag containing these medications was found in a drawer and, therefore, medications had not been administered to the patient. The RN’s conduct an inaccurate medical record and failure to administer medication as ordered by the physician could have resulted in non-efficacious treatment.

In response to the incident, the RN states that she worked in this particular home a week prior to being fired and was told that she did not administer medications at that time. The RN states that she does not understand why the facility did not tell her the next day or even the same week about the incident.
