San Antonio Nurse Lawyers Can Help You Against Cases Which May Lead To Disciplinary Action

When it comes to cases and complaints, San Antonio nurse lawyers are needed when attending hearings before the Texas Board of Nursing. The Texas BON does not allow those who wish to exceed the scope of their practice as a nurse. A certain RN in San Antonio could’ve done this but failed to hire a good nurse attorney.

On or about January 23, 2007, the RN allegedly falsely documented a twenty-four hour report, dated December 13, 2006, by writing a temperature for a patient in a blank space when asked by a Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services surveyor to produce the 24 hour reports dated December 11, 2006, through December 15, 2006. The RN’s conduct was deceptive and resulted in an inaccurate medical record.

The Texas Board of Nursing took action to the case, summoning the RN to defend against the accusation. In response to the incident , the RN states that on that evening the temperature of the patient was taken and found to be 102. At 2100, the RN was administered Tylenol. At 2115, the RN was called home due to a family emergency and did not retake the temperature of the RN  because she did not feel that the medication had time to reduce the fever. The RN gave a report to a co-worker and went home. When the state surveyors came to investigate, the RN indicated that she panicked and made a bad decision when she saw that there was not a follow up temperature taken.

Unfortunately, the RN failed to hire good San Antonio nurse lawyers to help her defend her case.

As a result, the RN was sentenced to disciplinary action to ensure that she will never commit such acts again.

The case would have yielded a different result if the RN was able to hire San Antonio nurse lawyers. So if you also have the same cases or concerns, it’s best to contact Nurse Attorney Yong J.
