Subsequently, the student required EMS transport to the hospital, and spent the night in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to be monitored for a low heart rate. In response to the incident, the LVN admits she accidentally administered the wrong dose of Propranolol, giving the student 7 drams, instead of 7 milliliters, because she was told that the syringe usually used was not available so she did not measure the medication in the syringe provided by the student’s parents.
